/Nebraska News Articles/ - LINCOLN, NE, July 08, 2008 - Today, Ideastone annouces the evolution of their social shopping community, Fleabay. In an effort to adapt to the needs of its users, Fleabay is changing format from the digg-style social voting sytem to a more search oriented metaphor.
Nearly a year ago Fleabay launched into public beta to get feedback on what works and what doesn't. After nearly a year of testing it is clear that users want it to be easier to find the best auctions. Said Brian Knapp, founder of Fleabay, "The interesting challenge in finding interesting auctions is that users just want it to be easy."
In explaining the reasons behind the switch Brian said this, "Making Fleabay similar to digg was a mistake. It takes 200,000+ user base to make a digg-style system work. Our new model is sustainable for a much smaller user base."
This is just the first in a slew of exciting new changes coming to Fleabay in the coming months. Ideastone plans to do updates to Fleabay at least bi-monthly for the next 6-12 months. Once a year, Ideastone will audit the progress of Fleabay and adjust the site format as needed.
Fleabay's latest beta should last throughout the year as Ideastone continues adding new features and fixes. It is open to everyone who goes to http://www.fleabayit.com. To learn more about Fleabay, please visit http://www.fleabayit.com.
