Siblings Making a Splash Singing National Anthem at US Olympic Swim Trials Award-winning singer/songwriters garnering national attention with National Anthem
Multiple award-winning singer/songwriter siblings, Cher & Gene Klosner are getting plenty of attention singing the National Anthem for different events, having just finished up a performance at the College World Series and gearing up for their next appearance at the 2008 US Olympic Swim Trials.
/Nebraska News Articles/ - OMAHA, NE, June 28, 2008 - The Omaha natives, professional singer/songwriters who have lived in Nashville, TN, and Los Angeles, CA, said the attendance for these events is "very impressive." The Klosners sang for over 23,000 people on Opening Day at the College World Series and US Olympic Swim Trial officials are anticipating a record attendance for the Swim Trials, which is being held at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Nebraska. "Our web hits have increased significantly over the past couple of weeks and we were just contacted by a national magazine and a large distributor in Canada," noted Klosner.
Cher & Gene Klosner have sung "The Star-Spangled Banner" for many events, including several immigration and naturalization ceremonies. Cher Klosner Lane stated, "It is always an honor, no matter what the event, but to sing for the Olympic Swim Trials is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it means a great deal to us to represent our country in this way."
In addition to National Anthem performances, Cher & Gene Klosner's concert performances and appearance highlights include World Youth Day, with Pope John Paul II and President Clinton, CNBC's "The Big Idea," the 2007 and 2008 College World Series, The Grand Ole Opry, "American Magazine," and many 9/11 tribute events in New York and Los Angeles. Their music has been performed by symphonies throughout the United States and Canada, and their latest CD, Stardust, has won several prestigious awards including an "iParenting Media - 2008 Best Products - Audio" award, a "Parents' Choice" music award, and a "Creative Child Preferred Choice" award, and is in the running for several more.
The US Olympic Swim Trials begin June 29 and continue through July 6. Cher & Gene Klosner will sing the National Anthem Saturday evening, July 5 at 7:00pm. "We'll be giving it our all at the Olympic Swim Trials - that's what the Olympics are all about - giving our very best."
